Insurance

At this time, I am an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t bill insurance directly. This allows me to provide personalized care that is not limited by diagnosis, session quotas, or reimbursement rules.

If you have out-of-network (OON) benefits, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement. I’m happy to provide “superbills” to clients interested in using OON benefits support their filing of these claims.

Affordable Therapy
Options

A diverse group of people sitting quietly on a bench in a sun-dappled forest — symbolizing community, inclusion, and access to care for all.

I offer two primary options to help make high-quality, evidence-based pain care a possibility:

  • Open Path Collective: Designed for individuals earning less than $100,000 annually and lacking adequate insurance coverage. Requires a one-time $65 membership fee, granting access to sessions priced between $40–$70. (My current fee for Open Path members is $70 per 50-60min individual session.)

  • Sliding Scale: Available for clients who may not qualify for Open Path but still require financial assistance. Rates are adjusted based on individual circumstances, with a brief application process. (Fees range from at $150-$200 per 50-60min individual session.)

    • Complete this brief form to request a sliding-scale spot or inquire about availability.

    • Sliding scale rates are reviewed periodically, typically every 6 months or when there is a significant change in financial circumstances.

(Both these options are available on a limited basis; application and/or approval for either pathway does not guarantee scheduling availability at Alcove Mental Health.)

Empowered Relief Class

A wide green field at the base of a mountain range under a cloudy sky — symbolizing steady growth, emotional depth, and space to explore what’s possible.

If you’re not quite ready for 1:1 therapy, Empowered Relief® is a science-backed, single-session class that teaches powerful tools for managing pain and stress — at less than half the cost of a single therapy session.

Choosing Your Session Length

60-minute sessions offer spacious time for deeper exploration, emotional processing, and integrated mind-body work. These are ideal when you're navigating complex themes, in the midst of a major life transition, or simply value unhurried space to reflect and reset.

25-minute sessions are a focused, lower-cost option designed for clarity and consistency. These “minis in the Alcove” work well for checking in between full sessions, staying connected during a busy week, or honing in on a specific challenge with intention and efficiency.

Both formats are grounded in attuned, high-impact care.

The best choice depends on what you need most right now: depth and spaciousness — or clarity and momentum. Most importantly, you don’t have to decide alone; schedule your free consultation and let’s collaborate on the best fit for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Life happens, and plans sometimes need to change. If you need to cancel, please do so at least 24 hours in advance to avoid any fees.

    • Cancellations within 24 hours of your appointment will incur a 50% charge of your session rate.

    • No-show appointments will be charged 100% of your session rate. If your session was part of a pre-paid package, it will be considered used or forfeited with a no-show.

If you experience an emergency or technical issue, please reach out to me as soon as possible to see if a no-show fee may be waived and if your appointment can be rescheduled.

Please note that worsening symptoms related to your presenting concern do not qualify as an emergency under this policy. Living with chronic pain means some days are harder than others. Therapy is about learning how to navigate those difficult days. If you're in the middle of a flare, that doesn’t mean you have to push through a full session, but it also doesn’t mean you have to cancel. Maybe we spend our time doing a guided relaxation practice, or we switch to a phone session if that feels more manageable. The goal isn’t to force anything—it’s to help you build confidence that you can get through tough moments with support. Therapy is here to help you find solutions, even on the hard days.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

  • To reschedule or cancel an appointment, you can contact me by calling or texting 775-235-2406, OR reschedule via the client portal under “appointments” in the menu.

  • Yes, in compliance with the No Surprises Act, I provide a Good Faith Estimate for all clients. This written estimate will be shared with you before services begin, outlining expected charges for therapy and any other associated services. If you ever have questions about your estimate or experience unexpected charges, I encourage you to reach out so we can address your concerns.

If it helps, a typical course of CBT for Chronic pain is 12 to 16 individual sessions, following the intake.

  • Open Path is a nonprofit network for affordable therapy. If you qualify and register with them, you’ll pay a lower fixed rate through a one-time membership.

My sliding scale is offered directly through my practice, with flexible rates based on your current financial situation. It’s trust-based, with a brief request form—no income paperwork required.

Not sure which is a better fit? Feel free to reach out.

  • If therapy at the full fee isn’t accessible to you, you’re welcome to fill out a short sliding scale request form. I don’t require financial documents—just an honest reflection of what’s sustainable for you right now.

Sliding scale rates are reviewed periodically, typically every 6 months or when there is a significant change in financial circumstances. You’re always welcome to reach out sooner if your needs shift. These check-ins are collaborative and designed to keep care accessible while also maintaining fairness across clients who rely on reduced-fee options.

Please note, there are limited spots available for sliding scale. When you complete the form, I’ll be sure to let you know about current availability.

  • I’m an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t bill insurance directly. However, many clients with out-of-network benefits are able to receive partial reimbursement for sessions.

I can provide a monthly superbill (like a “receipt” for therapy) that you can use to submit claims to your insurance for partial reimbursement, if eligible.

  • Yes, you’re welcome to use out-of-network (OON) benefits if your insurance plan offers them. I understand that even with reimbursement, therapy can still feel like a financial stretch—especially with high deductibles or delayed payments.

If that’s your situation, I invite you to reach out. The sliding scale exists to help bridge gaps in affordability, and I trust that if you’re exploring both options, you’re doing so with care and thoughtfulness about what’s sustainable for you.

There’s no need to submit financial documents—just a brief form and your honest reflection about what makes care possible right now. My goal is to keep the process simple and grounded in trust, while also honoring the importance of keeping reduced-rate spots available for those who truly need them.

  • Yes. Therapy is typically an eligible expense, and I accept Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards. Just be sure to check with your plan provider for any specific requirements and with any eligibility questions.

  • Yes! I offer discounted rates for therapy bundles (e.g., pre-paid sessions). Please reach out to learn more about available packages and pricing options.
